Missions

First Christian Church is committed to supporting those in the local, national, and foreign mission field. The missionary committee is to be the voice in our church that provides leadership and education, to stimulate missionary interest, encourage missionary support, and promote the growth of our missionary outreach.

Christ's command in Matthew 28:16-20 is as much for us today as it was to the Apostles:

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Missions is a partnership that we all have the opportunity to participate in. It could be writing emails to those in other parts of the world. It could be volunteering in local missions/minsitries like the Pregnancy Center of Meadville

or the Soup Kitchen at Stone Methodist Church. It could also be a collection of needed supplies for any number of our current missions/ministries. If you are considering a short term mission trip, the Central Brazil Mission is ready to receive your help. Individuals from FCC are able to join up with other church groups arranged by CBM.
